THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDD1525000 and is part of the WY 153rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2, and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible). Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 AMXS. Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training that has provided the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications, and skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. In addition to the experience above, must possess experience or training performing duties as a dedicated crew chief; experience performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers; experience coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft; and experience serving as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs of assigned aircraft. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. This position is in the Sortie Generation Section of the 153d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 153d Maintenance Group, 153d Airlift Wing. Its purpose is to perform as the crew chief with responsibility for directing the total maintenance effort on individually assigned aircraft. The work involves the total maintenance of complex, high performance military aircraft, ranging from multi-purpose heavy, multi-engine transportation. Fully responsible for providing detailed technical insight into an aircraft's level of Mission Capability (MC), then develops and recommends a comprehensive course of action to maintain the aircraft at Full Mission Capability (FMC). All aircraft are fully integrated in and are part of the Total Force Mission of the United States Air Force. This position is responsible for fully prepared assigned aircraft for Aerospace Expeditionary Force/Wing (AEF/AEW) Operations around the world. (1) Directs, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft. (2) Ensures aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft. (3) Performs in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications. (4) Plans, develops, and conducts training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions. (5) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW). ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **
