THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDD1341000 and is part of the WY 153rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2, and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible). Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 LRS. Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current military service members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to make repairs or the ability to assist with repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least one-year of experience or training leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify interconnected complex systems on a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Extensive knowledge of state of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and other major non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of major mechanical systems. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls. Skill and knowledge to develop or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines (such as modifying parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed); improvising modifications to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions; and design modifications to meet special test requirements or other special needs. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 2T3X1, Mission Generation Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Note: Retraining into 2T3XX career field is restricted to the grades of E-6 and below with less than 10 years of Total Federal Military Service. Enlisted 2T3X1 ASVAB Requirements: Must possess a minimum score of "47" on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB. Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333233. The purpose of this position is to serve as shop chief over a small organizational segment in the Vehicle Section of the 153d Logistics Readiness Squadron with responsibility for the overall shop operation. One or more employees who perform work in the Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, WG-5803-10, occupation are assigned to the shop. (1) Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded mechanic(s). (2) Performs the full range of shop work. (3) Implements safety regulatory requirements. (4) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **
