This SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION) position, is located in a National Guard JFHQ-State organization under the office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO/G6/J6) and is part of the CA 1106 TASMG.
General Experience: Mus possess experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles to understand the stages required to automate a work process; Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems? SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), GS-2210-12: ???????Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level; demonstrating the ability to apply techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion; Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Ability to lead or supervise Planning and Evaluating System Administration Technical Competence
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY PROMOTION POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively promoted permanently if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 5 years if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), GS-2210-12, is to serve as project leader/supervisor responsible for developing, assigning, and coordinating duties and projects for systems administrators. Serves as the senior systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. The systems administered involve multiple hardware platforms running multiple operating systems in both physical and virtual configurations. The incumbent is accountable for the planning and coordinating the installation, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all server hardware and software. Work pertains to the administration of all systems including ensuring the efficient integration between systems as well as compatibility within the network infrastructure. The supervised team members are specifically assigned to multiple system platforms located throughout the state. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.
