Opportunity
The Sales Manager role is a regional role that is responsible for an assigned region of Kohler Stores that are owned and operated by multiple distribution partners. The Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring each store has the tools and resources to operate with excellence, serve customers with an elevated level of service throughout the customer purchasing journey, and act as a center of excellence for the Kohler brand in their respective markets. Their assigned region should consistently meet all expectations, allow for market nuances, and leverage local operator strengths including supporting inventory fulfillment partnerships by store and market.
Specific Responsibilities
Talent
Conducts structured coaching activities (i.e., Business Reviews, Business Planning Sessions, Visit Guides, etc.) for assigned Distributor locations.Collaborate with each distribution/store owner partner on the creation and execution of a talent strategy, to include the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of a succession plan for each market.Accountable to create training plans and strategies to onboard new team members, design trends, selling techniques, and customer experience strategy. Utilizes product knowledge to support and execute training of all Family of Brands products including Kohler, Kallista, Robern, and Ann Sacks and improve the sales journey for the customer.
Sales, Budget, and Service Performance
Responsible for creating annual strategic plan for each assigned store location to ensure the achievement of sales and KPIs. Accountable for the financial performance and profitability for each assigned location which includes, but not limited to; top line sales, sales mix, gross margin, and operating expenses in distributor owned locations. Partner with Store Manager on KPI results to recognize performance and establish action plans to improve performance where needed.Train to set service standards, educate on measurement tools, and share results of customer experience measurement tools (Experience Surveys, NPS, etc.).Work collaboratively with the Kohler Services team to drive adoption of Bathroom Design Services and Installation Services in existing markets. Collaborate with each distribution/store owner and local Kohler Professional Channel Sales Team to create and implement a trade outreach plan specific to our target customer.
Visual, Operational, and Marketing Execution
Support the execution and inspection of Kohler Store brand standards including HYU completion, refresh projects, and ensure standards are met.Works collaboratively with distribution/store owner partner and Kohler Branch Manager to ensure the local inventory supports in-store demand. Facilitate engagement with digital tools to drive adoption of new systems and software. Example Salesforce adoption. Work with the Kohler marketing team to support all aspects of marketing in the stores to drive traffic. This includes providing feedback on social campaigns and partnership to host events that are relevant to the customer base in each market.Ensure all locations consistently support our marketing campaigns through customer interactions and successful execution of visual direction.
New Stores (Where applicable)
Responsible for all aspects of new store openings and remodel projects in assigned market by working closely with corporate team to deliver the master project timeline.Support recruitment and onboarding for new store teams as aligned with distribution/store owner partner. Kohler Culture and Leadership AccountabilityCultivates productive, influential working relationships that yield improved business results.Improves distributor capabilities by leveraging available Kohler Co. tools and resources and best practices across business functions (human resources, marketing, operations, etc.) Protects Kohler Co. brands by identifying and addressing issues that may pose risks to customer experience and brand perceptions. Build and maintain strong strategic partnerships with Professional Channel Sales and Corporate teams resulting in increased understanding of store strategies and successful results in their region’s business.Create an open and collaborative environment that influences the greater team through action and communication by cascading knowledge and best practices throughout the organization.
