VA White City Medical Center is looking to fill two (2) Internal Housekeeping Aid Leader position at the main VA hospital in White City, Oregon. The position leads three (3) or more employees in performing their duties while performing the full range of housekeeping tasks required to maintain the Medical Center in a clean, organized and sanitary condition. The list generated from this announcement can be used up to 90 days to fill any additional vacancies that may arise.

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Duties include and not limmited to: Lead three (3) or more employees in performing their duties while performing the full range of housekeeping tasks required to maintain the Medical Center and other facility units in a clean, organized and sanitary condition. Engage with all employees to provide purpose, direction, and motivation in accomplishing all tasks. Maintain a clean, sanitized and safe environment for all stakeholders within our local facility. Ensures that supplies, keys, equipment, and supplies are properly secured, and equipment is maintained. Perform the full range of housekeeping tasks required to maintain the Medical Center and other facility units in a clean, organized and sanitary condition. Communicate instructions from the Supervisor to the employees and validate the completion of the work. Planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive plans to meet and/or exceed EMSĀrelated customer needs in compliance with local policies. Demonstrate methods and techniques, and provides direction to assigned employees in their proper usage is cleaning supplies and equipment. The position scrubs, strips, refinishes, and polishes floors by using hand operated and industrial equipment. Ensure safety and housekeeping rules are followed. The Housekeeping Aid Leader engages with all employees to provide purpose, direction, and motivation in accomplishing all tasks, while training the employee in proper procedures and techniques to meet or exceed desired outcomes of workload and safety. Accomplishes priorities, deadlines, and establishes work schedules and methods based upon policies and processes established by EMS. Work Schedule: Permanent, Full Time positions, 1st shift, 2nd shift and 3rd shift may be available, which also includes weekdays, weekends, holidays. Shifts may change to meet the need of the Agency. Position Description Title/PD#: Housekeeping Aid (Leader)/PD90216-A Physical Requirements: The position demands continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing. The work requires the occasional use of heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., wall washers, industrial type buffers) weighing over 50 pounds. The duties necessitate considerable dexterity, hand, foot, and eye coordination, and concentration as well as visual acuity to see dirt, dust and debris. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Recruitment Incentive: Authorized Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal Holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior federal work experience or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
