This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Qualified candidates will possess the following: knowledge of stockroom methods, techniques and procedures, AND ability to independently determine the sequences, methods, techniques, and procedures appropriate for accomplishing the assignments, AND sufficient knowledge of the range of items in stock to identify specific items requested by users from descriptions of their intended usage, and to suggest, in the absence of requested items, other items that might fit users' requirements, AND general knowledge of tools and parts including use and simple repairs, AND knowledge of inventory and reporting methods. Receives various tools and parts. Identifies, stores, issues, repairs and inventories by checking numbers and names of items on incoming stock and matching to receiving reports.
Repairs or replaces such items as handles, blades, grease and oil, etc. using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
Inventories by tallying incoming stock, reporting overage, shortage, or damaged stock items.
Marks and tags locations showing names, quantities, and storage methods of stock.
