Job Description:
This position is assigned to MWR Recreation Support Services. Must have a working knowledge of wood working techniques and basic shop mathematics. Must be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks. Must have knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Must have ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches. Must have skill in manipulating controls of a motor vehicle. Resumes will be reviewed to certify the qualifications have been met. Works under the direction of the higher level supervisor, who provides general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities and policies. Controls work operations, quality and quantity of work.
Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials. Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences and plans work assignments based on schedules, methods and policies.
Investigates works related problems, excessive costs, low productivity. Implements corrective actions. Recommends solutions to staffing problems.
Supports and explains programs to subordinates. Determines training and performance standards. Initiates recommendations for promotions and reassignments. Investigates and resolves grievances and complaints. Maintains work records and reports.
Other duties as assigned.
