THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY OFFICER - Title 5, Position Description Number T6006000 and is part of the WI 115 FW, Wisconsin Air National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties, performing duties such as: You must have previous experience working as a government SAP security officer. Candidates have experience supervising personnel management responsibilities. Able to identify subordinate developmental needs and provide or arrange for training to maintain and improve job performance. Experience developing, coordinating, and implementing policies on the near term operational and emerging classified capabilities. Able to identify changes needed in an organization and make recommendations to leadership for overall Advance Program Office (APO) improvement. Candidate must have program management overseeing areas such as; information, personnel, physical and automated information systems, and functional work areas. Must be familiar with legal and regulatory guidance. Candidates have experience setting and adjusting short-and long-term priorities of individuals and the organization. Able to review mission, function and manpower to identify requirements for additional resources to ensure goals and objectives are met. Must have experience as Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder or authorizing official (AO).
Responsible for decisions, management, oversight and quality control of personnel matters, including assignment/promotion recommendations, performance ratings, awards and other recognition, mentoring, contractor statements of work and acquisition plans and decisions. Reviews developmental needs of staff supervisors and makes decisions on non-routine, costly or controversial training needs or requests for APO employees. Develops, modifies and interprets performance standards and relays expectations to subordinates by providing regular feedback on job performance. Responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing policies on the near-term operational and emerging classified capabilities for the Wing. Under the guidance of the Wing APO Chief, manages and directs all activities of the APO, ensuring adequate oversight for information, personnel, physical and automated information systems, and functional work areas, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidance while meeting supported unit requirements. Serves as Deputy Chief of the Wing Advanced Programs Office. This position will provide security-based operational perspectives and advise commanders and other senior leaders in the wing on the employment of Air National Guard capabilities for achieving necessary joint warfighter effects. *** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. ***
