This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center. located in Norfolk, VA.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate Basic Requirements For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. AND To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. You will serve as a/an Lead Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) and be responsible for coordinating, communicating, integrating, and contributing to the overall success of the CE IT program; assists in developing new or enhanced IT systems for the management and delivery of information technology; directly manages IT projects dealing with complex issues or new IT technology. This specifically includes acting as an intermediary between the many shore infrastructure management professionals including real property, financial, environmental, facility management, planning, design, and construction communities.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Leads the Business Information Services Team, a workforce of comprised of trainers and information service/technology providers delivering products and services to the Shore Infrastructure Program supporting their information management, information technology, application support, and related training needs. Project manager for major projects dealing with complex issues or new IT technology. Leads or participates with interdisciplinary teams of technical information specialists, engineers, IT professionals, contractors, financial professionals, environmental specialists, and other technical or subject matter experts to achieve a specific agency objective related to data management or IT system requirements. Supports/assists the Branch Chief in carrying out duties managing short- and long-range planning activities that include multi-year work plans that results in providing the latest IT products for the SILC's Enterprise. Conducts analytical processes regarding the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet the business requirements of SILC's enterprise. Consults with SILC's customers to identify and specify requirements regarding migration of databases to new technologies, such as the migration from clientserver to Web-enabled databases.
