Job Description:

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing firefighting duties as part of an emergency response team in structural, emergency medical, hazardous materials, emergency services communication and fire prevention. GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; (2) rescue operations; (3) detection, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards; (4) operation of fire communications equipment; (5) controlling hazardous materials incidents OR (6) developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will respond to fires and fire related emergencies involving structures, aircraft, motor vehicle, wildland, and hazardous materials.
You may be assigned to any position required such as nozzle, hose or hydrant, search, rescue, ventilation, or any other assigned duties.
You will inspect structures and hazardous areas for compliance with Marine Corps Orders, Base Orders on Fire regulations and National Fire Codes.
You will inspect fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, sprinkler and alarm systems.
You will respond to all emergency medical related incidents and will be required to administer emergency care in accordance with standard operating procedures.
