You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Providing support to a seized property management function by locating physical storage facilities; Accounting for seized property through an automated system; and Preparing reports for management or court cases. OR Education: A master's degree (or equivalent graduate degree such as a L.L.B/J.D.) or 2 academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Assisting with providing custody, management and disposition of seized and forfeited property by overseeing their receipt, security, transportation, and review of appraised value; and Assisting with determining liens, quick-sale, storage, inventory, maintenance, modification, refurbishment, upgrade, and final disposition of seized and forfeited property. OR Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience. As a Seized Property Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties: Provide custody, management and disposition of seized or forfeited property; Oversee the receipt, security and transportation of all types of seized or forfeited property (i.e. controlled substances, currency and firearms); Witness or supervise the destruction of seized or forfeited property (i.e. narcotics) and Arrange for the transfer or temporary safekeeping of seized or forfeited property prior to its release for storage and disposition to a contractor.
