For the GS-09: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ability to use a computer and experience using computer software such as excel, word, access, SABRS, ERP, STARS, COST, etc. Working knowledge of fiscal law, accounting and financial policies, ability to perform accounting and financial analysis and use the data to make recommendations, ability to analyze and solve problems with accounting and financial data. For the GS-07: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Using a computer and computer software such as excel, word, access and accounting programs, basic knowledge of accounting, budget or financial policies, ability to perform accounting and financial analysis. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will assist in the performance of functions of formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
You will review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
You will provide information about, and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations
You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems.
You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers.
