THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2162000 and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.
APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the 193rd SOW AOC 2: NG employees in the 193 Special Operations Wing (This includes 193rd RSG, 193rd AOG, 211th EIS, 271st CCS, 201st RHS, 112th ACS, 203rd Weather Flight, 193rd SOW Det 1, 148th ASOS, PA ANG HQ DET 1) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG AOC 6: Individuals with Prior Service or No Prior Service, who are not currently in any branch of service AND are willing to become members of the PANG Those individuals who are not willing to join the Pennsylvania National Guard. Military Grades: ENLISTED E1 - E7 Supervisor for this position is CMSgt Judy Manpower #01045639 *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance GENERAL EXPERIENCE: You must have experience, education and a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career level. The seven organizational program disciplines are Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism, Information Protection Security, Physical Security, Security Forces, Security Training, Security Unit Deployment Manager, and Special Security Office Security. Demonstrate the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. You must have the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must indicate at least 24 months knowledge on the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System program. Experience in advising supervisor of any base or site activities that may impact the integrated base defense security systems program. Skill in completing reports and documents the intrusion detection system program maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Monitor intrusion detection system false and nuisance alarms and knowledgeable on how to request assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Coordinate with maintenance and materiel management functions to ensure sufficient spare parts and maintenance are available to support the integrated base defense security systems equipment and component. Maintain and use technical orders and commercial manuals that describe equipment components and operating procedures for Intrusion detection system program. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. As a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-09, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) program. Responsible for the management and administration of the physical access control systems (i.e., Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS). Perform administrative office support functions and develop, coordinate, and publish all SF installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and SF annexes to all installation plans. Perform installation security duties. Manage police services. Manage Security Forces Management Information System (SFMIS). Perform and enforce the full range of SF duties within the military installation. Perform other duties as assigned.
