This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT ENGINEER (INSTRUCTOR)-Title 32, Position Description Number D0606000 and is part of the WI AASF 1, Wisconsin Army National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of aircraft weight and balance computations; aircraft performance data; aircraft records maintenance; and aircraft systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-2185-10 level, applicant must have at least 24 months of training/experience as a non-rated crewmember. Additionally, you must possess the ability to be placed on flying status, qualified, or the ability to become qualified, as a Flight Engineer Instructor (FI) in the UH-60M, UH-60A/L or UH-72 aircraft. You must have experience showing the ability to communicate and conduct classroom instruction and training. Ability to gather information, compile data, and prepare reports. Ability to interpret and apply regulations and policy guidance.
As a FLIGHT ENGINEER (INSTRUCTOR)-Title 32, GS-2185-10, you will instruct and perform flight crew work supporting heavy multi engine aircraft, and to provide assistance to the pilot in the overall operation of the aircraft. Primary aircraft is the UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter and UH-72 Lakota helicopter. The aircrafts missions include aeromedical evacuations, resupply, search and rescue and support of national disasters and state contingencies. (1) Serves as instructor/flight examiner providing instruction, evaluation and examination on ground and operational training flights to develop and upgrade skills of aircrew members. (2) May perform duties of Flight Engineer which includes utilizing a knowledge of major aircraft systems associated with multiengine aircraft. (3) Performs other duties as assigned.
