THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0795000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (145 MXS/ Position No. 107167734).
Military Grades: Enlisted (E7 to E8) *Applicants of military grade E6 can apply but must be promoted to E7 prior to starting position. Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
As a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-5378-10, you will be responsible for planning weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations; establishing deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies; assigning tasks to be performed that explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; recommending and participating in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies, scheduling and approving leave of subordinates, setting performance requirements and make formal and informal performance appraisals, and determining training needs of subordinates and arrange for its accomplishment; performing the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed; implementing safety regulatory requirements; preparing for and participating in various types of readiness evaluation, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
