The position is located within the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) School Lunch Program Division, Fort Benning, GA. This is a Regular Part Time position (20-39 hours). 20 Hours per Week are guaranteed, with eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Qualifications of Employment 1. Experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade. 2. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. 3. Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job. 4. Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise.
Works under the direction of an activity manager, who provides general instructions, standard procedures, and policies, and relies on the incumbent to control work operations and accomplish an adequate quality of work.
Serves as a working supervisor over the kitchen work area exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations.
Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by supervisors.
Participates with superiors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs and estimates.
Assigns tasks to subordinates. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures, instruct subordinates in new procedures. Investigates and determines causes for work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity.
Implements corrective actions to resolve work problems; and recommends solutions to staffing problems. Inspects completed work for quality and production.
Plans and establishes overall leave schedule. Determines training needs. Responsible for training new employees. Sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance.
Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates.
Investigates grievances and complaints, resolves them informally and notifies supervisors of those of a serious nature. Ensures safety and sanitation procedures and practices are observed. Maintains work reports and records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
