GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing local standards and guidelines to eliminate and/or control safety hazards in assigned areas; 2) Preparing and revising safety instructions and guides; 3) Analyzing mishap data to discover contributing factors and mitigation methods; 4) Evaluating technical safety training to determine effectiveness and make adjustments. (NOTE: Experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position.) GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical training to tenant supervisors and employees; 2) Performing periodic and unscheduled inspections; and 3) Investigating mishaps and unsafe conditions to resolve safety and health issues. You will conduct a wide range of safety inspections to assure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and agency standards.
You will conduct root cause analysis of personal injury and industrial mishaps to identify contributing factors and recommend preventive measures.
You will resolve technical issues using Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations, principles, or practices.
You will perform risk assessments of hazardous processes and working conditions to determine hazard control techniques that minimize or eliminate unsafe and unhealthful operations.
You will recognize adverse conditions or trends to provide management with recommendations for improvement.
You will analyze work tasks to determine existing or potentially hazardous situations.
You will conduct safety and occupational health inspections, evaluations, and surveys of industrial facilities to identify, control, mitigate, and eliminate safety hazards.
