Job Description:
You will serve as a Crane Operator Supervisor I in the Rigger & Equipment Operations Division, Lifting and Handling Department of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. You will plan daily and weekly work schedules, establishing priorities on the basis of general work schedules, methods and instructions from higher levels of supervision.
You will assign work to subordinates and instruct them on work requirements, methods and procedures as needed, defining the standards of quantity and quality to be met, and is accountable to superiors for the quality and quantity of work performed.
You will promote participation in a variety of management programs.
You will maintain discipline, adjusts informal complaints and grievances among employees.
You will supervise employees in shop performing complex work to assure verbatim compliance with technical directives.
You will make appraisals of work performance and recommend subordinates for promotions, awards, and training.
You will make recommendations on all personnel actions, changing procedures, new types of equipment, cost cutting, need to overhaul equipment and similar matters.
