Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic Leader (Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Electronic Industrial Controls Leader Mechanic (Motor Vehicle Operator) procedures and mechanical work. I am skilled in the primary oversight of installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of HVAC Energy Management and Control Systems (EMCS), electronic industrial controls systems, and environmental management controls systems within an organization. I can measure voltage settings, check sensors, and calibrate analog boards. I can use blueprints or manufacturers' specifications to troubleshoot for repair HVAC EMCS. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Handles and carries tools, equipment, and testing equipment usually weighing no more than 80 pounds. Incumbent is required to stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, and work in uncomfortable positions. Occasionally, climbing and working in high places may be required. Working Conditions: Work is usually performed inside in lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. May work in drafty spaces and cramped areas with low overhead or sudden temperature changes when maintaining or troubleshooting field devices or during field surveys. Safety glasses, safety shoes, and earplugs are issued or are available. Additional specialized safety equipment is provided as required
Make plans, blueprints, material, and tools available at work locations.
Check work in progress and when finished, check for compliance of work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
Use mnemonic codes for calling up field data points.
Input values and status elements that establish the parameter for or command the EMCS to monitor each field data point.
Provide information and make recommendations to the Facilities Management Branch to modify designs and/or scopes of work.
Assist in final inspections of contractor’s work or in-house work concerning the EMCS.
Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
Install, repair, modify, troubleshoot, load and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures and controls.
Repair, overhaul, install, maintain and service industrial/domestic refrigerators; cold-storage equipment; freezers, water coolers, dehumidifiers, air conditioning units, ventilating systems, heating/cooling, cleaning, filtering and other systems.
