Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Mission Support Directorate, Acquisition Division/Program Execution, located in Washington D.C.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducting analysis on program objectives, and recommending actions or improvements; Developing, implementing, and monitoring information systems for the analysis and tracking of program data; Assisting senior analysis with developing briefings, presentations, and white papers; Providing recommendations for action that aligns with related policies, procedures, directives, and best practices; Preparing high-quality written documents, such as statements of work, performance of work statements, reports, project plans and technical analyses. This position starts at a salary of $120,579.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $156,755.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $156,755.00 (GS-13 Step 10). While serving as a Management and Program Analyst, your duties may include: Directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a segment of a CBP/OFO acquisition program or supporting OFO/HQ acquisitions staff related to acquisition. Planning and conducting special studies, personally or through team members, providing advice to managers, and preparing acquisition documents in assigned areas. Conducting analysis on program objectives, and recommending actions or improvements to achieve outcomes. Providing technical assistance and support to PMO or acquisition staff in all matters relating to the application of acquisition planning, execution and oversight: performing analysis on problem definition and solving. Developing, implementing, and monitoring management information systems for the analysis and tracking of program data; long and short range plans; policies and priorities established by statutes, executive orders, the Department, or management. Performing analysis on information provided by systems and provides recommendations to senior analysis for future actions. Assisting senior analysis with developing briefings, presentations, and white papers for use by senior PM, PMO managers or HQ acquisition staff. Ensuring that accurate, appropriately concise and timely information is available. Applying skills and knowledge on performing analysis/review of CBP acquisition programs, and their related documentation. Providing recommendations for action that aligns with related acquisition management policies, procedures, directives, and best practices.
