This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Preparing wood and metal surfaces for painting AND paints wood OR metal parts, equipment, interiors AND/OR exteriors of buildings, using brushes, rollers and other means of application. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will prepare surfaces to be painted by sanding, fills holes and cracks in walls, ceilings, and floors with and putty.
You will use vinegar or acids to pickle galvanized materials.
You will perform routine type painting on buildings (interior and exterior), structures, equipment, and streets.
You will work from ladders and various heights during projects.
You will apply various types of protective and decorative coatings.
You will clean and maintains all brushes and tools used on the job.
