THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), Position Description Number D1618P01 and is part of the PA 193rd Air Operations Group, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. AOC 1: NG Employees at the 193rd AOG AOC 2: NG employees in the 193 Special Operations Wing (This includes 193rd SOW, 193rd RSG, 193rd AOG, 211th EIS, 271st CCS, 201st RHS, 112th ACS, 203rd Weather Flight, 193rd SOW Det 2, 148th ASOS, PA ANG HQ DET 1) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Military Grades: ENLISTED: E1 to E7 Supervisor for this position is Mr. Hainsey Manpower #: 00762811 *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Top Secret Security Clearance GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. As an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-11, you will develop, modify, and test overall system backup and recovery strategies for assigned systems. Serve as a technical focal point for the installation and configuration of hardware and software on personal computers and for personal data assistants associated with assigned systems. Serve as a systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting in order to meet customer needs. Serve as a technical focal point on multiple operating systems and computer platforms. Analyze, evaluate, and recommend hardware/software changes to various computer systems. Develop guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), bulletins and flyers regarding the operation/use of assigned C4 systems, services, and activities. Implement systems software changes, operating system releases and maintains the operational status of systems. Perform security management in accordance with National Guard Bureau (NGB) AOC SPO, and DISA regulations and state policies. Implement DoD, AOC SPO and AFFOR policy relating to systems storage requirements. Provide input to AOC or AFFOR the state Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) procedures for system disaster recovery. Troubleshoot problems and implements changes on multiple computer platforms. Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Manage the COMSEC account for the AOG or unit. Perform other duties as assigned.
