Job Description:

Department of Defense (Schedule A, 213.3106) Title 10 Authority You will serve as a Deputy Associate Director, Strategic Engagement at the TSC, Arctic Security Studies.
You may qualify at the AD-05, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the AD-04 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Knowledge and experience of Arctic security and key public and private networks that can contribute to developing strategies to contend with Arctic security challenges. Knowledge and experience with leading and managing a team of personnel and multiple programs. General understanding of government policies and regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Deputy Associate Director Strategic Engagement at the AD-0301-5 some of your typical work assignments may include: Support the establishment of policy, procedures, and standards for the Strategic Engagement Division Develop an annual budget for the division and manage it throughout the year Develop and update Concept Papers for division-led events and assist in the creation of a biennial plan Assist in fostering collaborative relationships that align TSC initiatives and strengths with key government, academic, partner nations, and indigenous peoples across the Arctic Develop briefing products Provide daily guidance for staff and be responsive to their questions and needs Implements and puts into action the mission and vision of the division Oversee the planning, resourcing and executing of upwards of ten multi-day engagements Conduct routine correspondence with senior level government officials Create and edit decision briefings, progress briefings, overview briefings, and informational briefings Create new engagement venues and programs as assigned by the director Ensure completion of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
