Specialized Experience: Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing 03 or more of the following: 1) installing, repairing, integrating, and/or maintaining telecommunications systems and peripherals; 2) performing diagnostics or troubleshooting to resolve telecommunications and/or data collections issues; 3) drafting operating procedures, instructions, plans, or specifications on matters related to telecommunications systems; 4) procuring telecommunications systems or services from a variety of sources (i.e., common carriers, contractors, other commercial services) in accordance with established acquisition procedures. -OR- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. - OR- Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Status merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. Communicate directly and in-directly with staff, telephone companies, and other government and state organizations in assessing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues, and provide direct training on radio, telephone, and data communication issues.
Develops technical and user support documents, standard operating procedures, manuals and briefings.
Operational support in installation, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of all District radio and wireless communication equipment.
Track and maintain inventory of radio and telephone equipment and peripherals.
Assists in develop of plans to provide communication coverage for safety of personnel and efficient flow of communication.
Track issues and resolutions in an organizational ticketing system
