Job Description:
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. Your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-01 (GS-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. OR Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Health Physicist (CHP), or similar certification that included successful completion of a written examination meets the requirements for GS-5. Applicants may also qualify for higher grade levels based on their education and/or experience. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will plan, monitor, advise, train, and report duties in support of SWFLANT OSH program development and implementation.
You will conduct numerous surveys of new and changing work operations and studies of work processes to identify hazards and assess risks.
You will identify all safety, occupational health and environmental hazards and risks.
You will review findings with appropriate management officials citing hazardous conditions and unsafe acts/practices, and identifies adjustments required to correct the deficiencies.
You will prepare various reports as assigned discussing SWFLANT safety, occupational health and environmental problems, compliance with higher level requirements, and other matters.
