Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Researching emerging technologies and establishing new or supplemental guides that will improve the quality of the software architecture. Overseeing the testing, installation, implementation, and maintenance of application software. Providing technical advice and guidance in the application of standards, methods and procedures for software testing. Identifying and defining business or technical requirements applied to the design, development, implementation, management, and support of software systems, networks and data. Supervising the design, development and testing of large and complex programs that are mission critical or have a wide impact Reviewing and interpreting departmental IT policies, standards and guideline, procedures, and strategies governing the planning, design, and deliver of agency-wide software design. Serving as the primary liaison between customers and vendors and IT management throughout the development process. Developing performance plans and giving advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters.
