Specialized Experience Is Defined As: Processing and auditing complex contracts and vendor pay entitlement transactions, reconciling pay system and financial system data and working with a variety of electronic systems to review and resolve pay transaction issues. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-8, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-7 or higher in the Federal service. Supervises and directs functions in support of accounting transactions related to contract payments, personal services payment, and material transactions for goods and services for the organization.
Oversees subordinate Accounting Technicians, or through subordinate Lead Accounting Technicians, oversees the accomplishment of technical work in accordance with policy, directives, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Interprets regulations, requirements, and policies, including changes, updates, and automated systems modifications, to ensure compliance. Trains and assists lower level accounting technicians with techniques to correct and process accounting inputs.
Plans and schedules work to be accomplished; sets and adjusts short-term priorities for completion of work. Assists in implementing and maintaining Internal Control Program requirements to protect against waste, fraud, and abuse.
Positions filled at less than the full performance level will be developmental in nature.
