Position is located in the Facilities Operations Department at the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota. Primary responsibility is to ensure the distribution and treatment of all potable water meets all local, state and Federal mandated standards and regulations. Supervises the construction alteration, repair, modification and operation of all equipment at the water treatment plant, sewage lift station and NERT basin ponds. Responsible for testing, treating, adding chemicals, submitting required reports in order to meet Federal and state EPA and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) requirements. Responsible for maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems and appliances in staff housing to include water and sewer mains. Works with the Facilities Manager and General Foreman to ensure all required inspections and tests on the powerhouse boiler, emergency generators, water treatment equipment and associate equipment are performed. Along with all other correctional institution employees, the Inmate Systems Supervisor is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
