THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MILITARY & FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T57014P1 and is part of the NC G1, National Guard (JFHQ-G1 Family Readiness / Manning Doc 132F-007).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-07) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of managing, coordinating and planning family, quality-of-life or human services programs. Experience providing advice and assistance on community resources and social service agencies/programs. Experience analyzing, evaluating and making recommendations for improvement of family, quality-of-life or human services programs. Experience developing newsletters, literature and training materials to support a program. Experience presenting and educating financial literacy and/or budget development assistance.
As a MILITARY and FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, you will serve as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) for the Army National Guard to maximize retention and readiness; manage and operate family assistance center and provide assistance to commands within geographical area of responsibility in support of the SFRP; provide training and technical support to Commanders and Commanders Family Readiness Representative to support their Unit Family Readiness program and Soldier & Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs); submit information to support development and budget forecasting to support the Soldier and Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters; responsible for the presentation of DOD Financial Readiness material and support Commanders in delivery of training; refer eligible persons to OSD approved resources supporting Financial Literacy.
