Job Description:
Who may apply: Current, permanent DFAS employees in the competitive service and current DFAS VRA employees in the local commuting area and eligible DoD PPP Military Spouse preference applicants.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-12, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher in the Federal service. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 applying at the GS-12 level within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-12 Specialized Experience is defined as: providing expert knowledge of financial standards and principles to effectively analyze financial operations and data by applying applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures to verify accuracy of information and recommend process improvements for issues relating to Debt and Claims operations. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Responsible and accountable for Congressional responses and Hearings decisions related to Debt and Claims. Including the development, documentation, and operation of analyst team.
Evaluates the work of subordinates, develops performance standards, and provides advice and instruction to employees on work and administrative matters of work-related assignments.
Fosters a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and mutual respect.
Reviews and edits a high volume of written materials produced by the team. Ensure all written materials adhere to established policies and procedures and maintain a consistent voice and tone.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to gather information, complete tasks, and respond to service members promptly.
Lead and facilitate process improvement projects to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and improve the quality of work products. This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing implementation plans, and monitoring results.
