The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson SFB, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a Satellite Communications Analyst, HQ SpOC S357/S35G (NH-0343-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent). Description: Are you a critical thinker who can serve as the USSF Field Command Satellite Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME) Analyst? Do you have experience concerning Satellite Communication System(s), risk management, guidance, and oversight. If so, then the United States Space Force's (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC) is looking for you to serve as a Satellite Communications SME) Analyst. Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate will be a leader, motivated, self-starter with the ability to comprehend a wide range of issues concerning Satellite Communications. Candidate analyzes, develops, and evaluates requirements, detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation of SATCOM and programs and services for the Department of Defense. Candidate programs relate to sustainment modifications and enhancements as well as new program(s) to effectively and efficiently provide SATCOM to enable warfighter effects anytime in a global operational environment. The candidate applies expert operational knowledge of SATCOM technology. Candidate will accomplish command headquarters level senior program analyst planning, organizing, and determining necessary policies, regulations, directives, programs, doctrine, and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of assigned field command programs involving USSF cyberspace operations. Candidate will provide clear guidance for execution of goals designed to meet the Commander's Lines of Effort (LOE) with focus on Satellite Communication Systems. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of current and future Military and Commercial SATCOM programs. Knowledge of current protected Nuclear Command Control & Communications {NC3) space and ground systems and requirements and capabilities for future replacement systems; current military satellite communications system architectures and impacts of future systems on architecture; requirements and capabilities needed by tactical warfighter for successful missions accomplishment; inter-relational significance of CJCSI Vol VII networks to support strategic missions which includes Strategic Force Management, Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment and Presidential and National Voice Conferencing Networks. 2. Extensive knowledge and experience of the development of Concept of Operations, Operational Requirement Documents {ICD, CDD, and CPD) and guidance governing these processes and procedures. Extensive knowledge of Cybersecurity directives and practices that affect satellite communications systems. Extensive knowledge of development and potential improvements to communication planning tools and products used to ensure protected communications is executed. Extensive experience in development of test plans that prove operational capability of a satellite system or functional capability of a terminal element within that architecture. Broad knowledge of platform operations and mission support and ability to advise on methods of efficiency to support their mission needs. 3. Broad mastery and expertise in a wide range of space operations, program management, operations research analysis, test and evaluation, federal acquisition process, and complete understanding of HQ SpOC/DCG-O mission and role. 4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of policies, principles, and procedures for safe receipt, handling, and disposition of classified materials, and of security procedures. 5. Ability to plan and organize studies or projects and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze data and information from a variety of sources and make sound decisions.
