GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, OR Education. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level and must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as experience that demonstrates the ability to provide IT customer support services, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware/software and networked systems, and maintenance of internet servers and websites. Education: One of the following types of education: a Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must have been in one of the following fields OR must have provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and must have required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management. GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, OR Education. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level and must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. In addition, providing user training on routine applications, conducting information security analysis and compliance, and management of web design and legal compliance. Education: One of the following types of education: a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must have been in one of the following fields OR must have provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and must have required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management. GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level and must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience at the GS-12 level is defined as experience that demonstrates the ability to provide IT customer support services, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware/software and networked systems, and maintenance of internet servers and websites. In addition, providing user training on routine applications, conducting information security analysis and compliance, and management of web design and legal compliance. Further, experience providing oversight of network architecture and infrastructure and installation and maintenance of database systems. Join a dynamic, mission-driven team supporting the Department of Justice's information technology needs in the District of Arizona. As an Information Technology Specialist, you will provide technical and analytical support across a range of IT functions, supporting DOJ systems, cybersecurity, collaboration tools, and infrastructure across four geographically dispersed offices. Typical work assignments will include: Manages DOJ-issued desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and multifunction devices, as well as on-premises and cloud infrastructure in a Microsoft 365 hybrid Active Directory environment. Provides Tier I through Tier III support to district users across the state using the district's ManageEngine ServiceDesk ticketing system. Delivers training and maintains documentation for Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Webex, and core IT processes. Supports the district's intranet (Drupal) and maintains SharePoint Online communication and team sites. Enforces Department of Justice cybersecurity policies, manages privileged user access, and supports two-factor authentication using Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards. Uses PowerShell, Visual Basic Scripting (VBScript), Windows shell scripting, Power Apps, and Power Automate to streamline IT operations and support policy compliance. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
