This position is located in Facilities Management (FM), Office of Facilities Management and Reliability (OFMR) and is 3rd shift only. The incumbent serves under the general supervision of the Building Manager. More than one selection may be made from this announcement.
In order to be rated qualified, an applicant's overall experience and training must indicate possession of the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The USRO Supervisor performs a variety of duties within the zone. In this position, you will: Supervise and perform the full range of operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and controls work. Work closely with Building Manager, Zone Manager, Level II Liaisons, HVAC Engineering Technicians and Equipment Specialists in planning, carrying out and recommending improvements to the work of the unit. Motivate subordinates to operate as an effective working unit. Ensure workers have the training materials, information, tools and other support needed to work effectively. Review work while in progress or on completion and change work plans, work assignments and methods as necessary to reduce or control costs, and to accomplish the work of the unit as effectively as possible.
