About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the LAKE TEXOMA ANNEX IN GRAYSON COUNTY.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have previous experience working in carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical. A working knowledge of woodworking techniqu8es and basic shop mathematics to plan, layout, measure, cut, construct, and install materials according to techniques including knowledge of flow and drainage. Skill in installing and making repairs to small parts and sections of existing water and sewage systems. Knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Skill to operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment. Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment physical. Position of Trust - Subject to satisfactory completion of National Agency Check (N AC) Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Accomplished carpentry and painting tasks on routine repair and construction projects. Construct and repair building frames, frames for floors, walls, partitions, roofs, doors and windows. Hangs sheetrock and paneling and installs wainscotting, molding and cabinets. Tears out walls, floors and ceilings and accomplished desired repairs. Prepares surfaces for painting by sanding scraping. Blends colors and mixes paint and uther surfacing materials. Applies prime, intermediate and finished coating materials, and using brushed, rollers and spray guns to assure that surfaces are fully coated. Constructs or repairs wood or wood substitute items such as panels, pallets, forms, dry walls, roof decking, window frames, door frames, shelves, etc. Measures and cuts materials according to requirements to obtain items of proper dimension. Uses rulers, squares and common hand and power tools, shop woodworking equipment of the trade. Completes work by any of the accepted methods and techniques of the trade. Ensures structural soundness of completed work by installing reinforcements, braces and props. Repairs and modifies existing sewage and water systems. Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems. Installs and repairs of various fixtures and facilities such a water mains, sewage lines, hydrants, unit gas heaters, water heaters, hot water tanks. Completes work by any of the accepted methods and techniques of the trade. Determines work sequence, materials and tools to be used. Measures, cuts, reams, threads, bends, fits and assembles pipe and pipe fittings. Installs piping through floors, walls and ceilings. Make repairs on electrical equipment to include changing electrical plugs, switches, breakers, replacing thermostats and pairing small electrical appliances. Completes work by any of the accepted methods and techniques of trade ensuring and safety is first. Operates one or more motor vehicles to include light trucks, sedans and vans weighing up to 10,000 pounds on and off installation. Performs other duties as assigned.
