Job Description:
You will serve as a RIGGING WORKER in the Diving Operations Division (Code 760), Lifting & Handling Department of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF). The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

You will perform underwater ship husbandry on waterborne Navy vessels.
You will use decompression tables, open-surface scuba, and surface supplied dive equipment.
You will perform preventative maintenance in accordance with Navy 3M program. *********???????
You will perform salvage diving to retrieve items from the water using various methods like lift bags, cranes, davits, etc.
You will install and remove cofferdams, blanks, anchors, anchor chains and move large, heavy items underwater using cranes and rigging gear.
You will repair and replace various ship components.
You will operate dive boats, hydraulic systems, and all diver support equipment.
