Minimum Qualifications: 1. Must currently hold the following certifications: Waterfront Lifeguard Certification CPR/AED Certification Oxygen Administration Certification First Aid Certification 2. Must be willing to obtain First Responder Certification within six (6) months of hire date. 3. Preferred are those with waterfront experience in ocean rescue. Your resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under minimum criteria. Applicants who meet minimum criteria will be referred to the selecting official for consideration first.
Serves as lifeguard for a waterfront property and works under the direction of the Installation Program Manager and head lifeguard.
Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as trained, and responds to medical emergencies throughout the property. Employs safety rules and rescue techniques for the protection of the waterfront guests.
Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures. Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules and follows facility Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to ATP 7-22.01 as of October 2020. Attends waterfront and/or safety training as directed.
Assists in maintaining lifeguard tower and waterfront related equipment and supplies. Keeps area clean and free from any hazards. Maintains daily logs and records as required.
