Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT under the Nuclear Production Manager (Code 300N) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing support in shipyard nuclear and non-nuclear production trades operations, including production planning and control, ship systems engineering and testing, material management, equipment and facilities oversight, schedule and quality control, budget and cost control, and implementation of safety practices and procedures. Experience directing and managing the accomplishment of all phases of a large-scale industrial ship maintenance program, involving direction through trade supervision. Experience monitoring, organizing and delegating tasks for projects performed by subordinate personnel. Experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of submarine maintenance and repair practices, conducting systems testing, and ensuring compliance with SubSafe requirements. Experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the Shipyard organization and operations, navigating communication channels, and understanding the policies, practices, and functions of various departments. Experience applying techniques of scientific management-including workflow optimization, plant layout design, time and engineered work standards, work simplification, and safety-along with managing production control processes such as requisitioning, storage, delivery, inventory, and material handling; overseeing cost control related to direct labor, materials, equipment, and shipyard operations overhead; implementing budget control; and leading personnel management activities. Experience managing shipyard work operations and overseeing trades and shop practices, possessing comprehensive knowledge of all phases of nuclear and non-nuclear ship repair and overhaul, and directing major projects through coordination with trade supervision.
