You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Materials Management Division of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR (647th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the work of a WG-6907-06 Materials Handler demonstrated through experience, working under normal supervision, receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, or materials including Hazardous Materials ( HAZMAT), or Firearms, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies, and damage; reading shipping documents; using computer applications to document the movement of material; following prescribed handling and storage procedures; operating motor vehicles, and forklifts or material handling equipment. You will receive, issue, handle, segregate, store, stow, inventory, and document the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, or materials including Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), and Firearms, in accordance with prescribed regulations.
You will receive, store, issue, stage, and maintain accountability of small arms and other materials
You will ensure that all transactions are properly documented in an automated database
You will operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
You will carry a loaded sidearm while handling small arms and weapons or working in the warehouse
