Job Description:
You will serve as a Security Assistant (Special Access Programs) in the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing security administration work by applying basic procedures and practices relating to information, personnel, and physical security in support of special programs. You will assist in the initiation, review, submission, and tracking of personnel security investigations to ensure clearance eligibilities are maintained at appropriate levels and within mandated eligibility timeframes.
You will assist in conducting annual and as directed inventories of classified documents and equipment and responsible for the proper destruction of classified material.
You will monitor physical security requirements to ensure adequate safeguards are being utilized.
You will cross check incoming visit requests against clearance databases and specific visit requirements.
You will conduct security inspections to identify and resolve security problems to ensure compliance with personnel security regulations and procedures.
