Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/ OCEANOGRAPHER in the Unmanned Systems Division, Oceanographic Department, Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing high-level review of performance plans, employee ratings and recognition and resolving employee disputes, disciplinary actions, and counseling on work and administrative matters. Experience utilizing unmanned underwater vehicles to accomplish the Departments Ocean sensing missions in support of naval operations and providing remote command and control services. Experience coordinating with EEO officials during the development and execution of policies affecting civilian personnel. Experience reviewing the process and transmission of collected data, and the preparation and production of interpretative reports and publications. Experience directing the acquisitions, planning, and multi-mission operations of unmanned underwater vehicles for the purpose of acquiring measurements of relevant oceanographic characteristics. You will develop and execute all aspects of the mission of the Division.
You will formulate plans to accomplish the Division mission and tasks based on broad guidelines provided by the Department Director.
You will execute the tasking of the Department to provide remote command and control services for a broad spectrum of unmanned water vehicles to accomplish the Department's ocean sensing mission.
You will represent the Division at both inter and intra- agency levels for technical discussions and representations.
You will be accountable for meeting goals, supervision objectives, and deadlines set by higher management.
You will oversee the personnel of the Division and provide direct administrative and technical supervision to branch level supervisors, supervisory oceanographers, and physical scientists.
You will carry out EEO policies and communicate the support of these policies to subordinates.
You will coordinate the preparation of unmanned mission plans and schedules that support the acquisition of oceanographic and environmental information required for the Division's analysis and reporting tasks.
