Job Description:
You will serve as a CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM OFFICER In the CORRECTIONS AND PROGRAMS OFFICE (PERS-00D) of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying legal, law enforcement, and correctional principles in administering a correctional program or prison; 2) Reviewing and advising on the fiscal and administrative requirements for a military correctional program; 3) Identifying operations issues/problems and resolving with minimal impact to mission requirements; 4) Coordinating with other government agencies (e.g. DON, DOD) to meet organizational goals, and objections in relations to a correctional program. You will monitor and track policy, procedures, and operations to ensure compliance with higher level guidance.
You will oversee command adherence to Navy and DoD correctional programs, security and facility maintenance functions, and preparation for emergency contingencies.
You will provide policy and procedural advice and assistance to all command staff on corrections-related matters.
You will advise leadership on policy and procedural changes for compliance with standards.
You will determine staffing criteria for brigs, confinement facilities, detention spaces and correctional custody unnits.
You will represent the Navy to the other Services and to other federal agencies involved in corrections and law enforcement.
