Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER in the Environmental Compliance Division of MCAS CHERRY POINT.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting and providing recommendations for compliance with environmental engineering and regulatory requirements in groundwater, soil, air emissions, and environmental pollution reporting; and control and abatement activities related to management and cleanup of hazardous waste disposal sites, underground storage tank cleanup, and water supply aquifer protection. You will advise on the interpretation, implementation and compliance with environmental engineering policies.
You will be responsible for preparation of discharge and emissions control inventories and modeling as required by the State of North Carolina for the Air Station, FRC and outlying fields.
You will serves as the technical authority for a range of environmental engineering programs to ensure environmental compliance throughout MCAS Cherry Point, FRC and outlying fields.
You will provide consultative engineering series dealing with the planning of compliance for the environmental program, representing MCAS Cherry Point.
You will review technical literature and publications and confers with government and nongovernment professional engineers, industry representatives, and technical organizations.
