THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1728000 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience which demonstrates knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification. As a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER-TITLE 32, WG-4818-11, you will serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. Plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded worker(s). Utilize knowledge and skills of the journey level as well as those required to plan, accomplish, and maintain a functional shop maintenance program. Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements. Devise and maintain all program plans and records, performs surveillance and troubleshooting, and determines maintenance/repair procedures to be utilized. Plan, organize, and direct shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. Determine approach, method, and course of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. Perform the full range of journey level work of the shop. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Ensure that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Perform other duties as assigned.
