This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Position for a DIRECTOR OF FORCE SUPPORT, Position Description Number D2696000 and is part of the 169 FSS, South Carolina Air National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): 1 Only Area 1: Current Permanent On-Board dual status technicians employed with the SC Air National Guard. (Does not include temporary and indefinite technicians). Area 2: Current military members of the SC Air National Guard. Area 3: Current nationwide Air National Guard military members, AF Reserve military members, and RegAF. (Must be willing to transfer to the SC Air National Guard), US citizens eligible for immediate membership in the SC Air National Guard. Min/Max Military Grades: Maj/LtCol GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Use the Office of Personnel Management Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions Specialized Experience time requirements of 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
This position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing, Mission Support Group, Force Support Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Force Support Squadron (FSS) Director and to exercise first and second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the FSS, manage the activities of the FSS, and oversee the planning, direction, and timely execution of high visibility and high impact FSS programs. The Director of Force Support makes independent technical and executive decisions for the squadron in all areas of functional responsibility. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Title 32 Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.
