Job Description:
You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Fiber Optics and Electronics Engineering Technician) in the Advanced Manufacturing and Prototype Engineering Branch (BL41200) within the Prototype Manufacturing Division in the Prototyping Manufacturing and Test (PMT) Department of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Coordinating shipboard repair and/or installation of fiber optic cables, and preparing status reports to stakeholders as necessary; 2) Leading shipboard and shore-based installations of fiber optics for ALRE and SE systems; 3) Performing technical analysis and implementing solutions related to the installation of ALRE, Aviation SE fiber optics equipment while stressing reliability, maintainability, supportability safety, operational readiness and performance; 4) Performing in a technical execution and engineering advisory capacity on fiber optics to engineers and managers within and outside of NAVAIR; 5) Supporting engineers in the design, development, producibility and fielding of various systems. You will serve as the subject matter expert in the fiber optics and electronics production, installation, and repair of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS), Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Systems, Aircraft Lighting Systems.
You will serve as the subject matter expert in ALRE and avionics Support Equipment (SE) electronics systems in both shipboard and shore-based environments.
You will lead and coordinate shipboard and shore-based repair and installations of fiber optics for ALRE and SE systems.
You will develop drawings and other technical documentation with fleet activities and industry.
You will lead effort to expand maintainability and repair capability of fiber optic cables at PMD.
