Opportunity
The Assistant Store Manager leads the showroom team to create an exceptional and gracious experience for our clients and helps drive business to exceed sales goals. They serve as a role model for our Sales Designers in sales generation and world class service by prioritizing the customer experience first and consistently implementing the Kohler Store’s Premium Client Service standards. They utilize training materials and resources to educate the team on product knowledge, help improve selling skills and also to achieving personal business goals. The Assistant Store Manager helps create and ensure a positive team environment where all associates are treated fairly and equitably with dignity and respect.
Specific responsibilities include client development and sales generation (50%), Sales Design team training and development (25%) Store operations (15%) and outside business development (10%).

The Assistant Store Manager works in partnership with the Store Manager to organize, plan and implement strategies of day-to-day operations. This includes employee management and customer satisfaction to showroom maintenance.
Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills. Is able to set clear expectations, holding store team and themselves accountable for achieving all brand, performance, and behavior standards. Exceptional critical thinking skills to creatively identify challenges and develop action plans in a timely manner.Great time management skills and ability to execute multiple tasks and appropriately manage competing priorities.Promotes a positive working environment where there is trust, cooperation, accountability, safety and equity. Upholds our customer service principles by coaching staff on their successes and challenges and reinforcing positive selling behaviors. Trains and develops to ensure selling team is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge across our multiple brands and available services.Has high personal integrity that promotes the positive selling culture of KOHLER.Is skilled in relationship and team building. Supports in the development of a high-performance culture through motivating the Sales Design team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.Knowledge in plumbing industry preferred but not required.Reports directly to Store Manager, daily and occasional contact with the design trade, contractors, distributors, and Kohler Co. Corporate Departments.
Specific Responsibilities
Sales Generation
Achieve Sales- and Service-related Metrics.Achieve monthly Sales Orders, sales mix of all department and brands offered, and Shipped Sales goals based on showroom location.Achieve personal showroom goals in KOHLER Services (BDS and Installation).Receive consistent positive reviews on Google and Yelp.Conversion rate of 30% of Personalized Quotes to order . Achieve Selling Process Steps.Accurately qualify and concisely communicate how The KOHLER Store can meet customer’s needs through proper information gathering and listening.Edit product assortment to provide ease of purchase.Provide Personalized Kohler product spec decks to customers.Follow-up on all outstanding quotes.Ensure Salesforce opportunities are updated consistently. Efficiently provide solution-driven designs in 3 or less meetings.Close the sale within the Store; avoid losing to the competition.

Manage time by
Coordinating selling floor time and customer appointments with staff and other Store resources.Maintaining task lists to ensure consistent daily operations of the showroom. Communicating needed office time to Store Manager.
Training and Development
Maintain
The growth and development of the team through ongoing product training and positive service behaviors.Provides in the moment coaching to support positive behaviors.Takes the time to explain the why’s behind new initiatives and processes.Stays current on any internal and external trends that can affect the business.
Promote
Encourages curiosity from the team around new products, promotions and campaigns. Openness and flexibility to new information and ideas.Celebrates the success of both the individual and the team.
Participate in
Actively pursues new learnings and takes the initiate to share for the betterment of the team. Participate in any updated in-person and virtual trainings.
Store Operations
Maintain
100% compliance on Standard Operating Procedures and Policies & Procedures.All voice, in-person and electronic correspondence with a sense of urgency.Customer quotes, sales orders, detailed change orders and related paperwork with high level of detail.Sales tools, resources, collateral and overall cleanliness of the Store.
Promote
Team atmosphere by assisting colleagues’ customers in their absence.Sister businesses and total Kohler Co. portfolio of brands.Constructive feedback to Store Manager on all customer comments.Suggestions for store improvement, product development and client services.
Participate in
On-going product and service training.Staff meetings.
Outside Business Development
Maintain
Personal Selling Plans with a minimum of 15 active accounts.Trade relationships with a minimum of 5 outside calls per month.Relationship with the local Kohler Co. branch manager to maximize productivity of outside calls.
Promote
Designer and Custom Trade Programs.Participate in 4 non-Showroom initiated trade events and design work shops throughout the year.
