Opportunity
Support Sr. Manager Supply Chain US Transportation in operations, carrier management, delivery service levels, capacity management, and shipment execution for all US Kohler. Supervise the US Transportation Team in all aspects of their daily function including interaction with carriers, freight forwarders and government agencies, management of export shipping planning, and related document creation and billing. Support and manage the creation and maintenance of corporate, integrated systems for all import and export activities. Assist in the pragmatic approach to problem-solving situations. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the entire US Transportation organization. Develop, analyze and report Quality Performance Metrics relative to US transportation cost and service performance. Identify opportunities for internal and external supplier/carrier development and process improvement activities while driving root/cause analysis and corrective action plans as necessary.
Specific Responsibilities
Administer the domestic transportation programs to properly support the sales, marketing, materials, and purchasing areas of all groups of the Company.Analyze and optimize the selection of transportation mode and specific carriers based on cost, transit time, equipment availability, and need.Assist the Sr. Manager Supply Chain US Transportation, in the negotiation of TL, LTL, and parcel freight rates.Supervise coordinators and partner with 3PL, IT, and Systems providers to support a scheduling, proactive tracking and communication and full metric suite to support LOTIF to delivery of 95% for KBNA.Supervise the invoicing and documentation functions to provide an accurate and timely document flow to our vendors.Supports monthly reports and reports out monthly on performance and improvement programs. Supervise the auditing and payment of freight bills and invoices pertaining to domestic shipments.Monitor the cost effectiveness and level of service provided on all modes of shipments, and recommend routing charges to applicable purchasing areas when warranted.Calculate freight quotations as requested.Supervise the tracing and expediting of all domestic shipments via all modes of transportation.Participate and assist in special studies and projects as required.Maintain and expand current computerized operation within the department to minimize redundant clerical effort and historic transactions.Accountable for compliance with government or regulatory body requirements for safe, secure cargo movements withing the KBNA Network.Participate in, and support US plant expansions as they occur.Supervise the training, development, and further education of US Transportation associates.Supervise the maintenance of department procedural manuals.
