Job Description:

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1182000 and is part of the TN ARMY National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter).
Military Grades: E-4 through E-7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures that otherwise validate the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 9 months or 1-year specialized experience equivalent the GS-05 level, knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures; experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies; experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts; experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.
As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-06, you will provide technical guidance and assistance to subordinate elements and other staff sections in planning, acquiring, preparing, conducting, and documenting individual and collective training. Administer the command's school program for the Battalion. Assist with collection and review of organizational readiness data. Assist in administering the individual and NCO professional development training programs for the organization. Assists in the preparation of yearly training budget requirements. Assist in implementing and following security measures for such items as documents, arms and ammunition, and communication/automation equipment (communication security/computer security). Assist in forecasting, allocating, and monitoring the usage of training ammunition for the command. Review unit requests for training ammunition. May be required to support recruiting activities to assist in maintaining the organization at authorized strength by establishing personal contacts and maintaining effective working relationships with strength management personnel and key leaders of the community. Perform other duties as assigned.
