This position serves as a Custodial Worker Supervisor responsible for assigning, directing, reviewing the work of subordinates, evaluating their work performance; coordinating work operations; and solving problems related to the work performed by the Night Custodial Unit for the Senate Office Buildings.

This vacancy will be used to fill a Night Shift position with a tour of duty from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM. The work schedule may occasionally require mandatory overtime on holidays and weekends. As a Custodial Worker Supervisor, you will help lead a dedicated team responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Senate office spaces, restrooms, and public areas. You will play a key role in both the administrative and technical aspects of supervision including assigning tasks, providing feedback, coordinating schedules, and upholding high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism. This is an essential employee position, requiring you to report onsite during emergencies and inclement weather. The individual selected for this position: Collaborates with higher level supervisor performing administrative and technical supervisory functions for subordinates. Assigns duties, directs and reviews the work to subordinates, and evaluates performance. Develops performance requirements for subordinates and ensures a mutual understanding of the performance standards. Resolves complaints and grievances as delegated by higher level supervisors. Makes recommendations to the supervisor concerning personnel matters such as employment and promotion; initiates disciplinary actions; schedules and approves leave; and keeps time and attendance records. Ensures that employees cleans rooms and office spaces, restrooms and building entrances in the assigned area. Assists with cleaning tasks including vacuuming, sweeping with brooms and mopping to clean floors and baseboards. Ensures that employees thoroughly clean and sanitize fixtures such as toilets and sinks, dusting off desks and other various office furnishings; and cleaning and/or washing windows inside out, stonework, ceilings and their fixtures and room partitions.
