Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to work of the position OR an appropriate combination of education and experience totaling four years¿ experience in the Travel and Tourism industry. Supervisory experience required. Must be capable of managing numerous facilities, satellite and branch locations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to deal with all classes of people. Skill to operate a personal computer. May be required to travel extensively. Must be certified as an Airline Reporting Corporation Specialist. Must be knowledgeable in providing government travel. Must have knowledge of contractual agreements and possess good negotiation skills. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of reconciliation of commissions and payment as it relates to leisure and government travel. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
Responsible for the planning, development, implementation and administration of a large full-scale Information, Tickets and Tours (ITT) and All Points Travel leisure travel program to include oversight of several satellite and branch locations. Responsible for the arrangement and marketing of a wide variety of tours to various points of interest utilizing land, sea and air transportation. Ensures quality service is provided for all aspects of tours, including transportation, hotel accommodations, food service, and recreational pursuits. Serves as primary Point of Contact and communicates with a diverse variety of commercial leisure and government entities. Responsible for providing quality service for all official government travel under Traffic Management Office guidelines. Ensures official government travel offices are effectively and efficiently operated to meet the need of patrons. Responsible for all aspects of the reconciliation of receipts and payments. Develops new tours and searches new business opportunities; cultivates business relationships and establishes contracts/agreements to use in tour packages. Plans, organizes work and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plans, budgets, cost controls, inventories and related records and reports. Reviews the financial status and operation of facilities; recommends changes to ensure optimum efficiencies. Responsible for preparing the work schedules, arranging training, and conducting performance appraisals of employees. Counsels personnel and recommends personnel actions. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy. Ensures compliance with fire safety, security and other environmental issues of facilities, satellite and branch locations. Maintains security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste or abuse. Plan, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Monitors programs on a regular basis, and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Manages new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ¿Return To Work¿ program initiatives, and following up on employee well being. Performs other related duties as assigned.
